The Rochester’s Farmer’s Market & Exchange is gearing up for the 2016 summer season beginning Friday, June 3 and running thru October 7, from 3 in the afternoon until 6. Rain or shine “it‘s a great way to start the weekend!”
This will be the second summer for the Market & Exchange and to that end Rhoda Stockwell, Rochester’s market manage attended the annual meeting of the Vermont Farmer’s Market Association held at the Vermont Law School in March. “It’s always interesting to hear what works for the different markets, some excel in prepared foods others have a fully diverse lineup from flowers to thai food, petting zoos to local whiskey tasting at 10 in the morning. There’s allot to learn to make a good market a great market.”
This year Rochester’s Market & Exchange will feature local farm produce, products and meat, baked goods, crafts, art and more. “We’re looking for several diverse prepared food vendors so you’ll be able to have a quick bite while shopping or pick up dinner on your way home.” according to the markets planning board. There are spaces available both by the day and the season at very reasonable prices.
Special events through out the summer are being planned including a children’s market where the kids are the vendors, cider tasting – hard and fresh, and a fun variety of music.
