The Rochester Area Housing Committee Panel Discussion
“D-I-Y” Home Creation:
How individuals can create housing to help our community flourish
Thursday, October 19, 6:30-8pm
At the Rochester Town Office
The Rochester Area Housing Committee invites you to a panel discussion to learn how you can help create housing for our community (while adding an income stream!)
There’s a great need for housing in the White River Valley. Individual property owners can help address the housing needs in our community by utilizing programs that already exist to create or preserve housing: accessory dwelling units (“in-law apartments”), renovations, rehabilitation, and converting underutilized space into homes.
This panel will feature stories from those who have successfully become “DIY housing creators”, as well as organizations that can be of support in this process.
Questions? Contact sdanly@vitalcommunities.org. Registration is not required.
Want to learn more about what we mean by “DIY home creation” in advance of this event? check out this brochure created by the housing committee: vitalcommunities.org/rochester-area-home-creators-brochure-digital-version/
P.S. Save the date! This event will be followed up with an opportunity on December 7 for those who want to move forward to connect directly with service providers who can help. Stay tuned for further details!
